Seven lanes of Australian borrowing, sorted.

How to get a question answered here

Published 2026-07-30

There are three ways to get something answered on this site, and matching the question to the right one saves everybody time.

Questions the pages answer

Anything structural: which lane applies to you, what evidence a given profile needs, which agency sets a rule, what a number means and what changes it.

Start with the three questions, read the lane, then read your income situation page. Between them they cover the questions that decide most outcomes, and they link to the primary source for each rule so you can confirm the current position yourself.

Questions the chat assistant answers

The consultation button on any page opens a chat assistant that handles general questions about how Australian lending works, in plain English, in whichever language you prefer to use.

It is good at explaining a concept, unpacking terminology, and pointing you at the right page. General questions, general answers.

Questions that belong with a licensed provider

Anything about your specific file — an application, a rate you would be offered, your borrowing capacity, whether you personally should refinance — needs someone who can see your full position: income, commitments, credit history, the property, and the lender’s own current policy.

Keep financial details out of email. An inbox is the wrong place for them, and a good answer requires a proper look at the file anyway.

Corrections

If a fact on a page is wrong or out of date, or a link to an official source has moved, write to contact@loanhub.au. Corrections get made and the page review date is updated. That is the most useful email this site receives.
